CWA Zoom Meetup

Please join us for our CWA Zoom Virtual Meetup on
Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM

for fly tying presentations by Norma Kawecki and Casey Peltier
and a bingo game featuring women in fly fishing (past and present)

Once again, Covid concern have prevented us from holding our annual Bugs and Beer party.

Instead, we’re going to have our party via a Zoom Meetup on 8 February from 7:00 to 8:00pm.

Join us to see Norma Kawecki and Casey Peltier, two of our own CWA members, present fly tying demonstrations on some great flies for winter fishing – the Frenchie Nymph and the Sawyer’s Nymph, also known as the pheasant tail nymph.

Our bingo game will cover women in fly fishing. We have a long and rich history of women who have excelled at all aspects of fly fishing, all the way back to the Middle Ages. They have left us with an incredible legacy of stories of their successes. Tune in and see how many of these women you recognize.

Please use the form to sign up for this Meetup no later than 48 hours prior to the event.

We hope you can join us for bingo and to learn more about the tying these popular flies

How can you participate in CWA Zoom Meetups?

  • Members sign-up on the CWA website calendar and complete the registration form for each meetup they wish to join. For security purposes, Zoom participants will need to sign up in advance for the meetup.
  • The Zoom meetup information and link will be emailed to registered members prior to the meeting. (Look for an e-mail from our Zoom host, Denise Swensen, with details for joining the meeting.) The email with instructions will be distributed approximately 24 hours prior to the event.
  • On the Meetup date, members should click on the Zoom meeting link at the start time listed to join the event.

(Note, if you do not have the Zoom application on your device, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you join your first Zoom event. It’s super easy. You can participate via phone, laptop, computer or tablet. The prompts say “save file.” Then just follow the prompts. No need to enter a separate password. Once that’s completed, you click on “join meeting.” You will be put in the “waiting room” until the host lets you in when the meeting starts. Make sure your mic and video are clicked on so everyone can see and hear you. We will be allowing video connection so that members can interact during the session. Or, there will be a dial-in option for audio-only participation.)

Consider downloading Zoom prior to the meeting at this link, https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting.
