AREC is a multi-use environmental education and aquaculture center located in Anacostia Park in southeast Washington, DC. In collaboration with the National Park Service and the Fish & Wildlife Service, the Department of Energy & Environment opened the AREC in 2005. It is one of three facilities of its kind in the Northeast Region of the United States. We plan to include a tour of the facility, lunch, an invited speaker, and a preview of 2024 trips, along with a fly exchange (similar to a cookie exchange – bring 6 flies that you’ve made or bought). CWA will provide the main dish and beverages. Members may bring side dishes, snacks or desserts to share. Join your fellow members for great conversation and a chance at the raffle prize drawing.
