CWA-PPTU Joint Fly Fishing Clinic June 2017, Merkle Wildlife Refuge, Croom, MD, June 2017
Since its beginning in 1994, CWA has offered fly fishing clinics to its members to enhance their enjoyment of the sport. These clinic are designed to introduce beginning fly fishers to the basic skills necessary to achieve success on the water. Clinics are offered once a year and include a session on the different types of fly fishing equipment available and their application to different types of fly fishing (freshwater and saltwater), instruction and practice sessions on the mechanics of fly casting, a session on knot tying, and a session on aquatic entomology. Fly fishing clinics have also been part of CWA Memorial Day parties on the Gunpowder River in Monkton, MD. In the past several years, CWA has partnered with the Potomac-Patuxent Chapter of Trout Unlimited to offer members of both organizations a chance to learn fly fishing skills or improve the skills they have acquired. Please consult with our calendar (need a link) to determine when these clinics will next be offered.
